Today's Daily Dirty Diary

Celebrated French designer Andrée Putman passed away at her home in Paris on Saturday January 19, 2013 at the age of 87. Putman developed a new language for hotel and interior design during her collaborative commissions for Yves St Laurent, Cartier, Thierry Mugler among others. Most notably, she invented the concept of the “boutique hotel” with her redesign of The Morgan in New York in 1984.

Today, Putman’s wide scope of influence and creative relevance is evident in the visual themes used by Marc Jacobs for his SS13 Louis Vuitton collection and show.
